Murder on the Frontier

An Afghan national by the name Akhtar Usman was found decapitated with a note accusing him of spying for America in Pakistan’s frontier region. The BBC’s Urdu report, unlike some English reports did not call him a scholar. Nonetheless, as this article notes many people have been murdered in the tribal regions on suspicion of spying for America – and some of these were `ulama.
