NoScript – irritating but oh so priceless.
April 19, 2007
Everytime there’s a new version of NoScript with major feature upgrades it seems to take a few weeks to find all of those things I actually need to b able to do that it wants to block. I greatly appreciate this, even as I fiddle around to fix it, and I hold back the curse words. After all, this is one of the best ways to know just how much it is doing. There do seem to be some things that it blocks the first time or two I try to do them in each session. Is that a feature – is it meant to recognize by my repeated stubborn attempts that it really is a human trying to do this?
You’ve also got to respect them for blocking Java execution in accordance with user wishes, while linking to Sun’s download site. (Although anyone including client-side Java in their web sites deserves … um, never mind. That’s not nice. Tauba, tauba.) They also appear to be on the no-www bandwagon. Woo-hoo!
